INGREDIENTS
1 lb Spare Ribs
- Rock Sugar
- Light Soy Sauce
- Shaoxing Rice Cooking Wine
- Black Vinegar
- Star Anise
- Ginger
- Green Onion
METHOD
1. First, prepare the spare ribs by cutting them, then bringing them to a boil for a few minutes, then rinse off and drain
2. In a wok, add cooking oil and rock sugar, heat it at low temp, until sugar melts
3. Increase heat, add ribs to wok and stir to coat...add soy sauce, rice wine, vinegar, ginger, whites of green onions, and star anise
4. Add water to pot to cover ribs and simmer while covered for 20 - 25 min
5. Turn up flame, and uncover to thicken...at end add a bit of black vinegar and sesame seeds...
6. Serve and garnish w/ green onions
